Self-Defense IS Self-Care: Situational Awareness Workshop
Public Event
Sat, Mar 8 3:00 PM CDT
About this event:
CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY WITH US! Learn Self-Defense!
We experienced a 7.15% increase in total assaults over the past year through March, rising from 21,416 to 22,948 incidents. Women accounted for 40.2% of all assault victims during this period, highlighting a troubling pattern of targeted violence. We may not have control of all the issues surrounding violence; however, we can control ourselves through the kindness of self-defense. Violent confrontation is not a fair situation for anyone.
You have a voice, and the right to stand-up for yourself! Own your space! Self-Defense IS Self-Care! Childhood Fractured and Aikido Kenshin Dojo are hosting the Self-Defense IS Self-Care: Situational Awareness Workshop, teaching skills and best practices to remove yourself from uncomfortable, dangerous situations.
This event is open to everyone, no martial arts experience is necessary! We ask that participants dress in comfortable clothing (no jeans or shorts) and get ready to move your body and have some fun!
