About this event:
Antibiotic resistance is one of the top global public health threats, according to the World Health Organization. With 73% of the world’s antibiotics used in the meat industry, factory farming is fuelling the rise of drug-resistant bacteria, threatening human, animal, and environmental health.

To put a spotlight on this growing crisis, the Winnipeg Humane Society is hosting Farm, Fork, Pharma, an eye-opening event that highlights the connection between factory farming, antibiotic resistance, and public health. Through provincial, national, and global lenses, expert speakers will highlight why this issue demands action, how Canada’s response compares internationally, and explore actionable solutions in regulation and animal welfare to tackle this critical public health crisis.
