Join Michel Durand-Wood, author of “You’ll Pay For This: How we can afford a great city for everyone, forever” in the first Lectures and Lagers event. The creator of DearWinnipeg.com will read from his new book, followed by a Q&A discussion with moderator Johanna Hurme of 5468796 Architecture.
A limited selection of beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available to purchase from the mobile bar.
Tickets are by donation to The Forks Foundation. You can also pre-order a copy of Michel’s book from McNally Robinson to pick up at the event, and get it signed by Michel.
Michel Durand-Wood lives in Elmwood with his wife and three children, and writes about infrastructure and municipal finance at DearWinnipeg.com. He's been invited to speak in cities throughout North America, and his writing has been featured extensively online and in print, including on Strong Towns, Streetsblog USA, CBC, the Winnipeg Free Press and La Liberté. He is the author of “You'll Pay for This! How we can afford a great city for everyone, forever,” a fun new book aiming to demystify municipal finance for citizens, local media and municipal councils everywhere.
