About this event:
Writing Techniques of the Prolific Authors with Sean McLachlan

Have you ever wondered what it takes to write 100 books? What about 500? Or 1,000? That may sound like an impossibly high number, but it some of the world’s most successful authors wrote hundreds of books over the course of their writing careers. Isaac Asimov wrote more than 300 books. Enid Blyton wrote more than 800. Legendary Western writer Lauren Bosworth Paine wrote close to 1,000. Some wrote even more. This presentation will examine some of the techniques and daily habits of more than a dozen remarkable writers to show how writers might dramatically increase word count without sacrificing quality.

Sean McLachlan is an archaeologist who has excavated in the Middle East, Europe, and the United States. Now a full-time writer, he specializes in history, travel, and fiction. He won the 2013 Society of American Travel Writers Award for his Iraq reportage and writes in genres as diverse as neo-pulp detective adventure, historical mystery, and scifi.
